iPhone 2.0 Firmware Available Early

iPhone firmware 2.0 is now (unofficially) available for download. To install you will have to download the .ipsw file (here) manually since iTunes will not notify you of its availability yet. Note that unlike previous updates this version will completely erase your iPhone, so make sure to sync and backup all your content and settings. (We recommend doing a sync and then a Restore of the current firmware to insure you have all your settings saved.) To force iTunes to install the 2.0 firmware you will need to Option-click the Restore button in iTunes and select the downloaded firmware (you may need to delete ".zip" from the file name, it should just be iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw.)
